Sydney’s Best Bars

Sydney’s Best Bars

12/05/2016 Off By Emma Gray

After weeks of studying hard for my finals at University, I arrived in Sydney in definite need of a stiff drink, or ten. I came across some great bars in Sydney during my trip and here’s a selection of my favourites.

Hotel CBD Bar

CBD Hotel Bar

This bar is in York Street, a little off the main tourist bar area, and as such it’s much quieter and more relaxed. The chic, minimalist interior with high ceilings and quirky design features gives the bar a refined feel, without being pretentious or stuffy. The cocktails are simply delicious, and the bar staff definitely know their stuff so if you’re looking for a drink that’s not offered on the menu they’ll mix it up for you easily.

My brother and I stumbled upon this bar when searching for a place to have our favourite ‘one drink for the road’. Okay, the journey was about a 5 minute walk back to the hotel, but any excuse right?! We enjoyed CBD Hotel Bar so much that we made it 5 for the road!

Wildfire Bar and Restaurant

Drinks And The view At Wildfire Bar

This bar and restaurant is at the Oversea’s Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay and has a stunning view over Sydney’s most famous icon- the Opera House. The cocktails were gorgeous and the view was amazing. Such a touristy place to drink, but I loved it! Although I imagine it would be full to the brim in the summer.

Opera Bar

I had this bar recommended to me by so many people before I went to Sydney that I knew I’d have to check it out. I certainly wasn’t disappointed. The atmosphere was vibrant and again, it served amazing cocktails. I’m such a sucker for a good cocktail!

The view of the Opera House on one side and the Harbour Bridge on the other is definitely what makes this bar so special. If you’re in Sydney, then I definitely recommend it.

Harts

This cosy pub was the perfect place for us to heat up on the cool Sydney winter evenings. The pub has a great selection of locally brewed beers and ales for you to sample, and the prices are pretty good too. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense bar with a good drinks selection, chilled vibe and friendly staff then you’ll definitely find it here.

What are your favourite bars in Sydney? Have you been to any of these?
