Travelling Tips – The Best Guide
Travelling Tips – Travelling Guides for the Avid Traveller
Travel can be the best thing in the world, but it can also be tough. Just like everything in life there are highs and lows in travel. Sometimes things go right and other times they go horribly wrong, like the time I was stuck in an airport for 2 days. There’s a few travelling tips I adhere by in order to keep my travels running smoothly…
The good old Scouts motto ‘be prepared’ also comes in handy for travel too. If you’re heading to a new place, and especially if travelling solo, being prepared is the best option. Even if you’re the type of person who doesn’t like to commit to booking accommodation for long periods of time it’s best to book accommodation for the first night in a new place. What happens if you arrive and everywhere is full? I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t fancy spending a night on the streets!
I think having good luggage helps many things and is one of my most crucial travelling tips. As regular readers will know, I’m not a backpacker, so I travel with a suitcase. I have lots of different suitcases depending on where I’m going and how long for. The biggest benefit of suitcases (I think!) is not physically having to carry things on your back. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not the strongest person in the world so a good suitcase on wheels is a god send! I recently tried out a great suitcase which trundles along on all 4 wheels (rather than 2) and was surprised by just how easy it was to move my mountainous suitcase filled with clothes and shoes! I’m definitely a convert!
Be Street Smart
Mishaps can happen anywhere and at anytime, you don’t even have to be on your travels for something to go wrong. Looking after your bag, wallet/purse, phone, camera, and any other valuables when you’re out and about is one of the crucial travelling tips. Ladies, only use bags with secure pockets and always keep them close. Don’t walk alone at night in unlit or sketchy areas. Just practice common sense and you’ll more than likely be just fine.
Sometimes the actual act of travel can be exhausting, frustrating and utterly testing in equal measure. But it can also be exhilarating, amazing and the best thing you’ll ever do. At times you have to put up with those boring days stuck in airports or on buses or trains in order to experience those magical travel moments. However, if you follow these travelling tips you’ll be able to have a thoroughly enjoyable time no matter where your choice of destination may be.
