Let us show you some of the hottest spots around the world for your next dream holiday…

The Balearics

Now that the tinsel and the baubles have been packed away for another year, we’re maybe all feeling slightly below par and dare we say it, a bit down in the dumps? Well, here at talkholiday we think there’s no better way to shake off the winter blues than to start planning your next holiday. In fact, we insist! Now that Santa’s grotto is closed, we thought we’d take a look into our holiday treasure chest and we’ve found some amazing places just waiting to be discovered by you in 2017. The world is really opening up to us all and you’d be hard pushed to find somewhere that is out of reach these days. The selection of flight deals, cruises, and hotels is just mesmerizing and we really are spoilt for choice. So, where will it be this summer?
We’ve taken a look at some of the current trends as well as what new destinations are on offer from some your favourite holiday tour operators and there really is something for everyone…and every pocket!

Granada, Spain.

There are some exciting new routes from easyjet that certainly have our mouths watering. The dazzling French hotspot of Biarritz is on the map for 2017 as well as the Andalusian city of Granada in southern Spain. This would be an ideal choice for sun lovers but perhaps want to explore the fascinating Spanish culture of this region, if you’ve tired of the bucket and spade stuff. That said, you could easily combine both, as the Costa Tropical is less than an hour away.

Sa Coma Beach, Majorca

Looking for something different but still within easy reach?
Thomson is showing some very exciting new destinations too and has really gone to town on their summer selection. Among the usual family favourites of the Balearics, the Canaries and the Costas, this year you could be sunning yourself in some of the gorgeous resorts in Croatia, Sardinia and Montenegro.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Croatia is certainly the rising star these days and could be a tempting alternative if you’ve exhausted all the usual hotspots. This once secret hideaway is now a sophisticated holiday haven for young and old alike.

Montenegro

Montenegro has really grown as a holiday destination and has become a truly fashionable retreat. You may recall it being featured in the recent Bond movie, Casino Royale. Hey, if it’s good enough for 007, it gets our vote too!

Cancun, Mexico

Far Away Shores
If your wanderlust is strong this year and you feel the urge to travel a bit further afield, take a look at the amazing Thomas Cook long haul holiday options. Featuring in the 2017 line up is the likes up Tobago, Vietnam, Mexico and Cuba to name but a few.

Havana, Cuba

Cuba is certainly gathering pace as one of the hottest destinations if you want to release your inner Latin spirit. The largest island in the Caribbean and arguably the most intriguing, Cuba conjures up images of thick cigars, rum, salsa and sassy Cadillacs. You can almost hear the rhythms of Havana even just talking about the place.

Romantic Holidays

Looking for some holiday romance a deux?
An interesting new development for summer 2017 is the rise in adults only resorts. Not everyone has kids and won’t be looking for family style hotels with hours of fun packed entertainment for our younger holidaymakers.Thomson’s Sensimar resorts and Gold hotels offer peace and relaxation in childfree surroundings and will be the perfect choice for that dreamy romantic holiday for two.

Adult Only Holidays

Another good offer is the great selection of adult only holidays from Jet2. There are a few real gems on here but one of our top choices is the Fergus Style Palacio Mojacar Spa in Spain’s Costa de Almeria.

playa las teresitas beach, tenerife

Tried and tested?
Just because there are new places on offer, doesn’t mean you have to visit them. We know some holidaymakers enjoy going back to the same spot year after year. Nothing wrong with that at all, in fact, there’s maybe something to be said for knowing what you’re going to. It’s a nice feeling to just step off the plane and head to familiar territory without trying to navigate any new surroundings. Simply ditch the suitcase and off you go! Many people flock to the beautiful Balearic Islands, the Canaries and the popular Spanish Costas, all of which expertly cater for tourists and there’s also the plus point of dependable weather.

Calpe Beach, Costa Blanca

We hope we’ve given you some inspiration on what to book this year and these are just suggestions but there is a whole big planet out there and the world really is your oyster. Why not pop over and tell us where you fancy jetting off to? Perhaps some of our other members have already been and can give you some insider tips. It’s always good to hear from the horse’s mouth on where’s best to eat, where the best bars are and anything else that can save you time trawling the internet before you go. Why not check out some of our cool destination guides, which you can download too.

Wherever you end up, just make sure you enjoy every minute and don’t forget to tell us all about it. We love seeing all your holiday snaps and you can show off your photography skills by uploading some of your pictures on your talkholiday profile.
